Kirk Muskina was raised in Grant Park, IL. He graduated from the University of Illinois before entering the U.S. Army in 1995 as a Combat Medic. Kirk was stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas; Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and Giessen, Germany. His operational deployments were to Bosnia as part of Task Force Eagle Stabilization Forces in 1997, and Baghdad & Najaf, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003-2004. His decorations include: Combat Medical Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, Air Assault Badge, Army Commendation Medal (5), Army Achievement Medal (6), Army Good Conduct Medal (4), National Defense Service Medal (2), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (w/ number 2), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation and an Army Superior Unit Award. Kirk separated from service in March, 2005 as a Staff Sergeant. Since leaving the Army, Kirk has worked in the Medical Device field in roles of increasing responsibility including Sales, Sales Training, Contracting, Marketing, and Mergers & Acquisitions/Integrations. Kirk lives with his wife, Gretchen, and sons Nick (17) and Evan (11) in Collierville, TN. Kirk is an active Mason, Boy Scout Adult Leader for Troop 56 in Collierville, and the Memphis Chapter Coordinator for Guitars for Vets. Guitars for Vets is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has refined a guitar instruction program aimed at providing Veterans struggling with physical injuries, PTSD and other emotional distress a unique supportive program.
